Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath was born on November 1st, 1988. He is the son of Indian field hockey player V. S. Ramachandra and Doddamane Bojamma.

Sports Career of Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath
Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath made his debut for India in the sub-junior side in the 2003 sub-junior Asia Cup in Dhaka that India won.

Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath also made his senior debut in the national side during the bi-lateral series in 2005 against Pakistan. There he played as a replacement to Sandeep Singh, who is also a promising hockey personality.

Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath was a part of the Indian team that won bronze in the 2007 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Indian Hockey, silver in 2008, gold in the 2007 Asia Cup and silver in the year 2013. Having scored six goals in the 2013 Asia Cup, Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath was awarded the "Best Player of the Tournament".

In the auction of the inaugural of Hockey India League, Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath was bought by the Uttar Pradesh franchise for USD 76,000 with his base price being USD 13,900. The team was named Uttar Pradesh Wizards.

Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath captained the team, Uttar Pradesh Wizards to a third place finish in the inaugural season of the Hockey India League. Hockey India League is a professional league for field hockey competition in India. Hockey India League is organised by Hockey India, a non governmental organisation. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has sanctioned the event and also provides a 30-day window at the beginning of a year so that all top players can participate. It is currently sponsored by India`s two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Moto Corp.

He ended the first season having scored 9 goals in 14 games and the second season scoring 8 goals in 12 games. Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath scored 176 caps and 117 international goals while playing hockey in national and international level. Out of Hockey Premier League, he is associated with Indian Oil Corporation Limited. Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath scored 6th in World Hockey League. Then, Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath scored 4th in Champions Trophy 2012. Before that, Vokkaliga Ramachandra Raghunath bagged 11th in World Cup Hockey in the year 2006.
