Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is the state level entrance test that is required for admissions in the first year professional degree courses. This entrance test is organized by the Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. Students who are seeking admissions in professional degree courses offered by several colleges (both government aided and private institutions) of the state of Uttar Pradesh need to appear for Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE). The institutes offering the professional programmes are affiliated to UP Technical University. Every year, a large number of students sit for this entrance examination. The Central Admission Board (CAB) that is formed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh is supervising and controlling the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE). The Central Admissions Board or CAB was constituted under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor of UP Technical University, Lucknow.
Application Forms for Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE)
The interested candidates can obtain the application forms and information brochure for Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) from the head post offices (by paying the requisite amount) of Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Nainital and Dehradun. Moreover, the candidates van also purchase the application forms through post by submitting bank demand draft of the requisite amount drawn in favour of `Finance Officer, UPTU`, payable at Lucknow. The candidates also need to send two self addressed envelops along with the bank draft. On the back of the draft, they need to write their names and full address. The completed application forms must reach the office of Registrar, Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, before the last date of form submission. The admit cards for the examination will be sent to the candidates through post. The candidates need to remember that all the successful candidates will have to show the admit cards at the time of counselling and admissions.
Eligibility Criteria for Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE)
The minimum eligibility criterion for appearing in the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is a pass in the 10+2 or any equivalent examination. The academic requirements of different courses are mentioned below -
For B. Tech Courses
For getting admissions in the B. Tech courses, the candidates need to have passed the 10+2 or any equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects and any one of these subjects - Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Biology (as optional subject). For getting admissions into the B. Tech (Marine Engineering) course, the candidate should have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). And the maximum age limit for the aspirants is 20 years.
For B. Pharma Courses
For the B. Pharma courses, the candidates need to have passed the 10+2 or any equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as major subjects and any one of these subjects - Mathematics, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Biology (as optional subject).
For B. Arch Courses
Candidates interested in taking admissions in B. Arch courses need to have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as the major subject with a minimum of 50% marks in total.
For B. H. M. C. T Course
For admissions in BHMCT course, the candidates should have passed 10+2 or any equivalent examination in any stream.
For MBA/MCA Courses
For admissions in MBA or MCA courses, the minimum academic requirement is a bachelor`s degree with a minimum of 50% marks in any discipline.

Pattern of Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE)
The Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is held for eleven separate papers and the type of questions is objective except for one single paper that is the Drawing Aptitude Test. The medium of the test paper is either Hindi or English. Each of the questions carries four marks. The different papers and the subjects are as follows -
