Tina Munim, Indian ActressTina Munim is an Indian Bollywood actress who had a successful Bollywood career during the late seventies and early eighties. She was not only popular for her acting skills but also for her innocent and fresh look on screen. Tina Munim was born on February 11, 1957 and belongs to a well to do Gujarati-speaking family, who lived in Bhuleshwar, Mumbai. She is married to the industrialist Anil Ambani, younger son of business tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani.

Career of Tina Munim
The star actor Dev Anand discovered Tina Munim after she represented India at the International Teen Princess contest in Aruba. In the contest, Tina Munim won the Miss Photogenic and Miss Bikini awards. Tina Munim dreamt of becoming a Parisian trained fashion designer and was poised to travel there for her studies in design when Dev Anand approached her with a cinematic offer. In 1978, Dev Anand cast her in his film `Des Pardes` and thus launched her film career. Tina Munim, Indian ActressHe repeatedly cast her in several other films like Lootmaar and others. Sunil Dutt launched his son Sanjay Dutt in his film debut `Rocky` alongside Tina Munim. Tina Munim worked with actor Rajesh Khanna In films such as `Fifty Fifty` and `Souten.` Apart from Dev Anand and Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim also appeared in a popular screen pair with actor Rishi Kapoor. They were paired romantically in six films; the most popular film was Subhash Ghai`s `Karz.` Producer-Director-Actor Rakesh Roshan also cast her several times, including for the smash hit film `Aakhir Kyon?` Director Basu Chatterjee similarly cast her in his series of films, such as `Baaton Baaton Mein` and `Man Pasand.`

In the late 1980s, Tina Munim made the firm decision to put her Bollywood career on a pause and moved to California to attend college. In 1991, she returned to India and very soon married industrialist Anil Ambani, with whom she has two sons. Today Tina Munim is involved in several charity, arts, and talent events. She did not appear in films since 1991. She runs a hospital called Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Research Institute in Mumbai along with KDA Nursing College. She is also involved with other activities and groups like Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial Trust, HARMONY - For Silver Citizens, Harmony Silver Awards, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Research Institute, KDA Nursing College, Mumbai Film Festival.
