The War of the Independents

The War of the Independents is a comics series from Vimanika Comics that includes more than 200 independent characters including Vimanika’s original creation Karna.

The War of the IndependentsThe War of the Independents, also known as WOTI, is a comics series published and distributed by Vimanika Comics in India. It is the first International title that will be launched by Vimanika and the series will include their original character of Karna along with 200 other independent international characters. The War of the Independents is created Dave Ryan, in a deal with Karan Vir Arora, the head of Vimanika. The initial issues have received positive response. The Indian version of the series will include the character of Karna in its entirety. Several international and Indian writers and artists have worked on the series such as Dave Ryan, Franchesco, RK Ferguson, John Higgins, Mariano Nicieza, Dheeraj Verma, Rich Dominguez and others.

Concept of WOTI
The War of the Independents is an Indian comics series that unites 200 Independent and creator-Owned comic characters, including Vimanika`s Karna, in a large inter-company crossover event. According to the concept, when evil forces attempt in creating an inter-dimensional doorway in order to rule over the world, a plethora of superheroes confront them from across the multi-verse in order to save the earth. Some of the major characters include Karna, Madman, Faust, Tick, Gumby, Captain Canuck, E-Man, Too Much Coffee Man, Zen, Badger, Scud, Kade, Atomika, Mr. Monster, Toy Boy, Goth Ghost Girl, Zen, Shi, Usagi Yojimbo, Doc Creepy, Louie and many others.

The War of the Independents is launched by Vimanika Comics in India at the Indian Comic Con 2011.
