Tangrakottai is a ruined castle along with an age old fort. The Tangrakottai fort is situated near Papirettipaty which was located in the Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu.

In the fort of Tangrakottai, there are the ruined houses, temples and other holy shrines. It is attracted by the tourists who love both adventure and history. There is a temple and some ruined historic buildings also. The local people use the temples to worship the deities of Hindu religion.
