It is a five issue limited comic book mini-series which is inspired by the many tales in the Panchatantra, a collection of ancient Indian animal fables. The comics series of Tall Tales of Vishnu Sharma: Panchatantra is created by writer Samit Basu and illustrated by artist Ashish Padlekar. The comics is about a typical Indian teenage nerd named Vishnu Sharma who enjoys playing Role Playing Games (RPGs) and other such stuffs. Although his grandfather has gifted him ancient copy of the Panchatantra right before his death, but he finds no interest in the ancient Indian fable. But unfortunately, he discovers he is assigned as the new guardian of the Panchatantra itself.

Content of Tall Tales of Vishnu Sharma
The plot of Tall Tales of Vishnu Sharma: Panchatantra revolves around the male protagonist Vishnu Sharma. An assorted team of animal heroes from the ancient Indian animal fables of the much popular Panchatantra have united to overcome and survive an imminent doom. The crew of animals set off on a quest to find a boy who is unaware of the fact that he has been chosen as the guardian of the Panchatantra. It is his destiny to protect the legendary animals existing in the ancient folk tales. But Vishnu Sharma has no idea that these animals even exist in reality. The boy, who is set to become a hero, is initially portrayed in the series of Tall Tales of Vishnu Sharma: Panchatantra as a laid back boy who enjoys playing and winning online multi-player tournament games. Vishnu Sharma appears to be too busy to fight wars mentioned in storybooks.

But when Vishnu encounters a talking lion, bull and monkey who arrive at his doorstep, he realizes that these creatures are much more than mere fiction. According to the plot of the comic book Tall Tales of Vishnu Sharma: Panchatantra, he is torn between deciding to either help and protect these magical creatures and the tales of the Panchatantra or just be a silent spectator and watch the mythical animals fade away from the history of the storybook. In his adventurous quest, Vishnu Sharma is helped by mischievous boy wizards, a friendly King of the Jungle who is not very scary and cute and cuddly sociopaths.

The funny and adventurous plot of Tall Tales of Vishnu Sharma: Panchatantra has gained much popularity in India and abroad and has been well accepted by comic book readers.
