Sonu Sood, Indian Movie ActorSonu Sood is an Indian film actor, producer and model. He primarily works for the Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada film industries. He was a participant of Mr. India pageant and has also appeared in a number of television commercials. Sonu Sood won many praises from critics for his remarkable performances in various films, especially in antagonist roles. He has also won many prestigious accolades for the same.

Early Life of Sonu Sood
Sonu Sood was born on 30th July 1973 in Moga, Punjab. He did his schooling from Sacred Heart School in the same city. His father was an entrepreneur and his mother was a teacher. He also has two sisters. Sonu later moved to Nagpur for pursuing higher studies and graduated from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering. He also started participating in modelling events there. He had dreamt to be an actor since his childhood.

Career of Sonu Sood
Sonu Sood made his cinematic debut as an actor through the Tamil film Majunu, but its release got delayed till the year 2001. His second venture Kallazhagar released in 1999 but failed to render him recognition. His Telugu film Hands Up in 2000 was a failure at the box office. Majunu released in 2001 and marked to be a smashing musical hit and got him noticed in the film industry. In the year 2002 he made his debut in Bollywood through the movie Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh garnering critical acclamations for his performance. Sonu Sood however acquired more fame with Mani Ratnam`s Yuva in 2004 and Aashiq Banaya Aapne in 2005. He also appeared in films like Sheesha and Siskiyaan, both in the year 2005.

Sonu Sood`s career graph heightened in Telugu cinema with the release of movie Super in 2005. In the movie he co-starred with Nagarjuna. His next venture Athadu turned out to be a super hit at the box office. In the following year he portrayed the antagonist in Ashok which although was an average grosser rendered much popularity to the actor. Telugu movie Arundhati brought immense fame to Sonu Sood in which he essayed the role of Pasupathy. The movie marked to be the biggest Telugu hit of that year. Following this he starred in the Indian epic film, Jodhaa Akbar, playing the role of Rajkumar Sujamal. In 2009 he featured in Anjaneyulu and Ek Niranjan, portraying antagonist in the latter. Ek Niranjan received mixed reviews from critics but Sonu Sood`s performance of a sadistic villain was lauded. In 2010 he played the lead antagonist in Abhinav Kashyap`s Bollywood flick Dabangg. He made his debut in Kannada film industry in 2011 with the movie Vishnuvardhana alongside Sudeep. Sonu received much praise for his performance in the movie. Other Bollywood films in which he has appeared include Singh Is Kinng, Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi, Bbuddah... Hoga Tera Baap, Maximum, Shootout at Wadala, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, R... Rajkumar and others.

Achievements of Sonu Sood
In the year 2009, Sonu Sood won Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Award for Best Villain and Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award (Telugu) for his performance in the movie Arundhati. In the following year he won Apsara Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role and IIFA Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role for Bollywood blockbuster, Dabangg. He garnered the SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role in 2012 for Julayi.
