Simanchal Patro

Simanchal Patro was a nataka performer. He was born in Bamakei village, Ganjam district in 1927. He began playing the boy Prahlada as a child, and trained under Kora Patra, Laxman Satpadiy, and Trinath Pradhan. He graduated to other roles but eventually gathering rural fame and popularity as Hiranyakasipu. This was the part that requires real stamina and abilities in singing and dancing. As a member of Lakshmi Nrusimha Natya Kala Sansad, Ganjam, Simanchal Patro has performed all over India.
