In the epic Ramayana it is mentioned that Sarabha is a monkey chief in the army of Sugriva. Sarabha fought against the Rakshasas or the Ravana army in Lanka. When Sarabha saw Kambhakarna he threw down his weapons and fled at the sight of Kambhakarna. Then he was recalled by the angry taunts of Angada.
