Samapika Debnath, Indian Film ActressSamapika Debnath is an Indian actress and model, who has mainly acted in Bengali, Oriya and Hindi films and featured in a few television shows. A graduate in fashion designing, she made her cinematic debut in the year 2007 with the Bengali film "Kaal", alongside Chandrayee Ghosh and Rudranil Ghosh. The film was screened at different international film festivals. She has since worked in films like "Hello Kolkata" (2008) and "Shatru Sanghar" (2009), and the 2012 Hindi film "Riwayat", alongside Khalid Siddiqui.

Film Career of Samapika Debnath
Samapika Debnath began her film career in the year 2007, featuring in the Bengali film "Kaal", alongside Chandrayee Ghosh and Rudranil Ghosh in the lead. The film was selected for screening at the Cairo International Film Festival 2007, the Sao Paulo International Film Festival 2007 and the Stockholm International Film Festival 2007. It was also successfully screened at the Osian`s Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema, 2007, where it was one of the competing Indian films. She next featured in the 2008 Bengali film "Hello Kolkata", alongside Swastika Mukherjee, Amitabha Bhattacharya and Sreelekha Mitra, portraying the character of Geeta in the film. The actress next worked in the Oriya film "Shatru Sanghar", playing the character Jyoti.

Samapika featured in the Hindi-language drama film "Riwayat", directed by Vijay Patkar, focussing on the issue of female foeticide in India. The film, released in 2012 in India starred her in a pivotal role alongside Khalid Siddiqui, and was received with mixed reviews and screened at various international film festivals in 2010, including Monaco Charity International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, CinefestOZ and other film festivals in India. The film won 5 awards at different international film festivals. The same year, she was seen in Tathagata Bhattacherjee"s Bengali action film "Astra", revolving around the love story of a gangster, saw the actress donning the character Koena Chatterjee.

Television Career of Samapika Debnath
Apart from films, Samapika Debnath has anchored the Kolkata-based Indian music television channel Sangeet Bangla. She has also featured in the TV shows "Kolkata Cocktail" and "Channel VJ".
