Old houses, small narrow lanes, the `ghats` of river Kshipra, saints and temples, old sculptures-- all these enlivened him since his childhood. The changing phenomenon of nature has always been the source of his paintings. Nature speaks its intensity through his canvas. Sometimes some incidents popped in his mind, for which he moved towards the core of his heart and all of these reflects through his paintings and drawings. The `Death` and `Gas Tragedy` series can be considered the reflection of those incidents. `Indian miniature paintings` with their delicate lines and heightened colours have always been Nagdev`s motivation. The age old pre-historic paintings and large coloured rocks have always been his inspiration. He is passionate about Indian classical music. Sitar played by his daughter also invigorates him.
