Ranji Trophy

In the Central Zone League Matches, Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan teams qualified for the Finals.

The Central Zone of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 comprised 5 teams, including the likes of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Railways, Vidarbha and Uttar Pradesh. The BCCI selected the teams mainly from the central region of India and all the teams were also the regular participants in the tournament. The teams played against each other in the zonal level league matches for becoming one of the top two teams in the zone. The teams also tried hard for get promoted to the knock out level of the tournament. However, only the teams from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan could qualify from the Central Zone.

The Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 started with the game between the teams of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The match was played at Udaipur from 29 November-02 December, 1993. Rajasthan played very well in the match and it clinched a victory of 4 wickets for earning 6 points from it.

The second match of the Central zone was played between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha and the match was held at Kanpur from 29 November-02 December, 1993. The match remained drawn during the stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Uttar Pradesh team 2 points for the match. The Vidarbha team could earn a point from the match. The teams of Railways and Uttar Pradesh then played against each other in the third match of the zone and the match took place at Delhi from 07-70 December, 1993. The drawn match saw the Railways team earning 2 points from it.

The Rajasthan and Vidarbha teams played against each other in the fourth of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match was held at Alwar from 7-10 December, 1993. The Vidarbha team won the match by a good margin of 6 wickets for earning 6 points and the Rajasthan team also earned 2 points from the match. The match between the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh was the next match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Bhilai from 15-18 December, 1993. The Madhya Pradesh team earned 2 points from the drawn match and the Uttar Pradesh team failed to earn a point from the match. The next match of the zone saw the teams of Vidarbha and Railways playing against each other at Nagpur from 15-18 December, 1993. The match saw the Vidarbha team earning 6 points from it by clinching a victory of 6 wickets.

The Railways team then played against the Rajasthan team in the seventh of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match took place at Delhi from 23-25 December, 1993. The Railways team played very well in the match for clinching a victory of an innings and 31 runs and the team also earned 6 points from the match. The Rajasthan team could not earn a point from the match. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh and the two teams played the match at Nagpur from 23-26 December, 1993. The Madhya Pradesh team won the match by a very good margin of 8 wickets for earning 6 points and there was no point for the Vidarbha team in the match.

The teams of Madhya Pradesh and Railways were involved in the next match of the zone, as they played against each other at Gwalior from 1-4 January, 1994. The closely contested match saw the Madhya Pradesh team winning by a narrow margin of only 3 wickets for earning 6 points and the Railways team also earned 2 points from the match. The last of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was played between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and the two teams played the match at Lucknow from 1-4 January, 1994. The match was also a very closely contested one and the Rajasthan team eventually became successful to clinch a victory of only 2 wickets in the match. The Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh teams earned 6 and 2 points, respectively from the match.
