Quasar Thakore Padamsee

Quasar Thakore Padamsee, son of stage actors Alyque Padamsee and Dolly Thakore, is a Hindi stage actor turned theatre.

Quasar Thakore Padamsee, Hindi Theatre DirectorQuasar Thakore Padamsee, a Hindi stage actor turned theatre director, was born on 20th August,1978. Both his parents Alyque Padamsee and Dolly Thakore were renowned stage actors and his mother was a casting director for the Academy Award winning film Gandhi in 1982. His father played the character of Jinnah in the same movie.

Quasar Thakore Padamsee studied English Literature at St. Xavier`s College in Mumbai. Starting his career following the footsteps of his father, as a professional in advertising, however, he soon started full time theatre by founding his own theatre company called QTP. The company started by Quasar Thakore Padamsee serves both Quasar Thakore Padamsee as well as Q theatre Productions.

Since 1999, Quasar Thakore Padamsee has directed and produced more than 20 plays with his theatre company Q Theatre Productions, based in Mumbai. He also works as a stage manager and lighting designer for his own theatre productions. Quasar Thakore Padamsee is also the Assistant Director of Tim Supple`s "A Midsummer Night`s Dream". The well-known plays produced by Quasar Thakore Padamsee in Mumbai include The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, Minorities, All My Sons, and The Urban Burden. Quasar Thakore Padamsee conducts workshops and is a passionate campaigner for the survival of theatre in the public consciousness.
