National Academy of Photography was founded by Madhu Sarkar. This institute is the first of its kind in Eastern India. The courses in National Academy of Photography offered range from basic three days photography courses to intense and specialized six month courses. The vision of photography is to develop awareness about photography and promote it as an art and a career.

Rabindra Bharati University is a university in Kolkata, and one of the hub photography courses like other courses. Rabindra Bharati University was founded on May 8, 1962, under the Rabindra Bharati Act of the Government of West Bengal in 1961, to mark the birth centenary of the poet Rabindranath Tagore. It is located at the Tagore family home, Jorasanko Thakur Bari also.
The university offers the digital photography courses and video photography courses.
Institute of Digital Media Technology
Institute of Digital Media Technology is a pilot project set up by a group IT and New Media industry professionals from Singapore and the USA.
