Pasupata Brahmana Upanishad starts with an invocation to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is the Lord of all beings who witnesses everything. Minds are controlled by Him only. The soul acts on his order. Every organ performs the actions that have been allotted to them. He enters the minds of souls and gives it the position of the mind. He takes suitable forms.
This type of knowledge is attained by truth, penance and other rules of life that have been dictated by chastity and by the paths dictated by Vedanta. Those who are faultless see realistic object of self shine in their own body. Others are unable to see it. If one has a disciplined food habit their mental discipline also develops. Through mental discipline one gains wisdom. A learned person who knows Brahman never sees the world as something different from himself.
