Parul Ghosh, was one of the most influential Indian playback singers in the early phase of Indian Cinema.

Parul GhoshParul Ghosh was one of the pioneers of playback singing in Indian Music. Parul Ghosh sang thousands of songs in Hindi language and Bengali language.

Parul Ghosh sang in both Hindi and Bengali Movies from 1935 to 1951. She was originally hailing from Barisal, now in Bangladesh. She was introduced to playback singing by her brother Anil Biswas. She sang is most of the films like "Jwar Bhata", "Milan", "Hamhaari Baat" and "Namaste". In her early career she was associated with New Theatres, situated in Kolkata. She was married to the eminent flautist Pt. Pannalal Ghosh in 1924. Parul Ghosh died on August 13, 1977 in Malad situated in Mumbai.
