Paras Laxmikant Mhambrey or Paras Mhambrey is a former Indian cricket player. He has played 3 One Day Internationals and 2 Tests since the year 1996 to 1998. Born on 20th June 1972 in Mumbai, Paras Laxmikant Mhambrey made his international debut in the year 1996 at Edgbaston against England as a third seamer. The tour also marked the first Test appearance of Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Venkatesh Prasad. In the match he bagged his first wicket of Michael Atherton. However his performance in the match could not earn much prominence and he ended up taking only 2 wickets.
Paras Laxmikant Mhambrey is a right-arm medium pacer. His performance in the domestic cricket has been more impressive. He made his debut in the Ranji Trophy in 1993-94 and grabbed 30 wickets at 23.77 apiece. In the next season he graduated to the India A side. His consistent performances in bowling and his batting contribution in the lower order helped Mumbai to win five Ranji Trophies throughout his career. He retired after leading the last of those wins in 2002-03.
Paras Laxmikant Mhambrey has secured a Level-3 coaching diploma from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He served as the coach of the cricket team of Bengal in Indian domestic circuit after a gap of 16 years and helped them reach the finals of the Ranji Trophy. He was also appointed as the coach for the home series against South Africa in September 2007. He also worked as the coach of Baroda. Later he was designated as the assistant coach of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Paras Laxmikant Mhambrey was also chosen as the overseas player for North Maidenhead CC.
