Right from Spitis" steep, gorgeous and stark desert environments the landscape that opens to become the high Tibetan plateau which makes up the Ladakh trip. This isolated trail also follows the traditional trade route between the inhabitants of Spiti, Changthang and Tibet. It begins in the high altitude meadows of Kibber, which is the breeding ground of the famous Spiti horses and also called the Snow Leopard`s country. Then it climbs over the Parang la (5600 mts), the source of the Pare Chu river. After days of trekking in Ladakh over the mountains, the journey ends at the breathtaking Tso Moriri Lake. This lake is also the breeding ground for the bar-headed geese, black-necked crane and the Brahminy ducks.

Trekking in this region is a real wilderness experience for adventure lovers, where one needs to cross many rivers. And the best period for exploration is from August - October when most of the snow gets melted and the roaring rivers are passable.
