Om Prakash was a well-known Indian character actor.

Om Prakash, Bollywood ActorsOm Prakash was born on 19 December 1919 in Lahore. He has been a popular Indian character actor. He started his career in 1947 and was a popular supporting actor from the 1950s until the 1980s. He was one of the most powerful actors of the film industry in the 60`s 70`s & to some extent 80`s.

His vital roles in the films Chupke Chupke, Julie, and Buddha Mil Gaya are considered to be his best performances along with De Silva in Zanjeer and Daddu in Namak Halaal. He is known for his roles in comedy films too. One of his best performances in his later years was Sharaabi (1984); in this film he played a role that was essential for the movie. He lived in Union Park, Chembur, close to Mumbai. Unfortunately, this great actor died of a heart attack on 21 February 1998 in Mumbai.
