O. P. Jaisha, also known as Orchatteri P. Jaisha, is a prominent name in the Indian athletics who competes as an Indian track and field athlete. Hailing from the south Indian state of Kerala, she was the national record holder of 10:03.05 in 3000 metres steeplechase which she made at the 50th National Inter-State Athletics Championships organized in Patiala on 7th August 2010. With this she broke the previous mark of 10:09.56 created by Sudha Singh on 18 May 2010 in Kochi. O. P. Jaisha was born on 23rd May 1983 in Kerala and is an alumnus of Assumption College, Changanassery.
O. P. Jaisha represents India in the middle and the long distance events which includes 5000 metres, 3000 metres steeplechase, 3000 metres and 1500 metres. She bagged gold medal at the 2nd Asian indoor Games organized at Bangkok in the year 2005 in 1500 metres and 3000 metres. However in the next edition of the Asian Indoor Games, at Pattayam, she could not repeat her previous brilliance and won a bronze over 3000 meters and a silver over 1500 metres.
At the 2006 Commonwealth Games, organized at Melbourne in Australia, O. P. Jaisha represented India. She also won a bronze medal at the Doha Asiad in 5000 metres. It was in the year 2008 when O. P. Jaisha took steeplechase and bagged the National title at Madurai Inter-State championships.
