Nishpatti Avastha, PranayamaNishpatti Avastha is the Fourth and the final Stage of Siddha Yoga. Nishpatti Avastha can be defined as the state of culmination or the state of consummation. The Yogi after destroying all the seeds of Karma drinks the amrit. He becomes independent completely. He is free to move anywhere in the world. He liberates himself from the cycle of birth and death and never takes rebirth.

At this stage, the Yogi achieves a state of bliss where he is completely beyond the physical confines of this universe. He neither feels hungry nor thirsty, nor sleepy nor lazy. He is also free from all diseases, expiry and old age. He enjoys Samadhi and his consciousness no longer stays in the material world, but constantly resides in Prana. He no longer practices Yoga. When the Yogi can drink the Prana Vayu by placing his tongue at the root of the palate, then he knows the laws of action of Prana and Apana, thereby he becomes entitled to liberation.

This is the attainment of `The Divine Awareness` that brings eternal bliss to the siddha yoga sadhak. This is the same state of Moksha as defined by Lord Sri Krishna in Bhagavad Gita. A Yogic student will experience all these stages gradually as he advances in his regular practices. An impatient student can never experience any of these by practicing occasionally.
