Lingaraj Pradhan

Lingaraj Pradhan is an accomplished Odissi Dancer who started his training under the Guru Bichitrananda Swain.

Lingaraj Pradhan, Indian DancerUnder the Guru Bichitrananda Swain, Lingaraj Pradhan began his training in Odissi dance. He was only 15 years old at that time. Though he was undergoing training from Guru Bichitrananda Swain, Guru Gangdhar Pradhan acknowledging his aspiration kept a strict eye always on his training. Lingaraj Pradhan, an aspiring Odissi dancer is also serving as the faculty of "Rudrakshya". But he still continues to sharpen her traits under the aegis of Guru Sri Swain.

`Rudrakshya` is a group formed and directed by Guru Bichitrananda Swain, which comprises of young and vibrant dancers from Orissa. Guru Bichitrananda Swain is an exceptionally excllent performer, teacher and choreographer who simultaniously possesses an in-depth knowledge of Odissi. He is an outstanding choreographer who composes pieces with new creative approach in a fold of tradition. He composes such choreographing dance patterns that is suitable for the both male and female body.

Lingaraj Pradhan from Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya has done his Masters degree in Music as well as in Odissi dance. The government of India has conferred him the National Scholarship to pursue further study on Odissi dance. Lingaraj Pradhan has bagged the honor of performing at highly esteemed festivals in and around India. He has performed at Puri beach festival, Jeevan Pani memorial foundation, Delhi, Swarnotsav, Delhi, Konark dance and music festival, Konark, India Habitat Centre, Delhi, Utkal Sahitya Samaj, Chennai, Kalidas Samaroh, Ujjain, Vasanta Habba, Bangalore, Mukteswar dance festival, Bhubaneswar and the Raindrops festival, Mumbai. Lingaraj Pradhan has also performed at OSA Convention, 2002 in USA, 2nd International Odissi Festival, 2003, USA and in several cities of USA in 2002 and 2003. At the Chitralekha Dance Company, Toronto, Canada, Lingaraj Pradhan has served as the visiting teacher. He has fetched honor of being performed at all most all the major cities of France.
