Lekhraj Kishinchand Mirchandani

Lekhraj Kishinchand Mirchandani was a critic, and a famous Gujarati theatre personality. His pseudo name was "Aziz" who was born in 1897. He was last of the Romantic poets in Sindhi, who has to his credit over a dozen works in various genres. This great Gujarati theatre personality, Lekhraj Kishinchand Mirchandani wrote three plays. The first one can be named as the historical Kumar Apt Singh in 1931, which staged in the same year in Hyderabad or Sindh. The other one can be named as Mr Majnu. This was performed in Hyderabad in 1933, and published in 1934.

This was a satire on modern lovers. The third one can be named as Ghariban mara i.e. "Persecution of the Poor" in 1935. Although himself a big landlord, Lekhraj Kishinchand Mirchandani based this drama on the atrocities inflicted upon poor peasants. It was not produced, but won an award from the Government of Sindh.

Lekhraj Kishinchand Mirchandani died in 1971.
