A senior disciple of Kalaimamaani Smt. K.J.Sarasa, Kumari Kavitha Ramu, is an entertainer who is an illustrious Bharatanatyam performer. Kavitha Ramu, in accumulation to worth mentioning performances at all the Sabhas in Chennai, has also performed at The Mamallapuram Dance Festival, Natyanjali at Chidambaram, Festival of Hyderabad, Bhartotsav held at Malappuram, Kerala. The exceptional opportunity to perform at the Eighth World Tamil Conference held at Tanjore was bagged by her. Her performance of the "Navarasam" captivated the viewers particularly for the conference commingling verses from the Tamil Classics. The violin maestro Sri Kunnakudi R.Vaidhyanathan set the music of the "Navarasam". This all together was a rare and unique achievement indeed.
Kumari Kavitha Ramu coordinated, the cultural events for the opening and closing ceremonies of the South Asian Federation Games of the year 1995.
During the Bahula Panchami Festival, she also executed one of the "Pancharatna Kirtana". The festival was organised by the Thyagaraja Festival Committee, Tirupathi. She also performed the "Swatantra Sourabh", which was coordinated by the Brahma Gana Sabha as part of the country`s golden Jubilee celebrations. During the Thyagaraja Festival Kumari Kavitha Ramu recently performed at New Delhi. The festival was organised by the Shanmugananda Sangeetha Sagha. She also performed the same at the Delhi Tamil Sangam to verbalize the reviews.
For her quality of excelling in Bharatanatyam, Kumari Kavitha Ramu has received an award constituted by Vipanchi and the Tanjore Quartet Award from the Sri Rangam Fine Arts. Kavitha Ramu, a postgraduate in Public Administration, with her dedication and passion considers the research in Bharatanatayam as her calling in life.
