Kulwinder Dhillon was a celebrated Punjabi singer who had earned international fame through his execution of Indi pop. He has been considered as the most gifted musicians of the modern Bhangra era. He is best known for his outstanding extemporizations and style of Bhangra.
Kulwinder Dhillon stepped into the world of music with his first music inductive album, Kacheriyan Ch Mele Lagde. The album contains the popular song Boliyan that received quite an amount of airplay on the radios. In the year 2003, he created another splash with the smash hit album `Akhara`. The album won accolades from Indian folk as well as in abroad. Kalli Kite Mil is the most hit song from the album. However, for an international release, the album was revamped and the now famous song has been remixed with dollops of hardcore Bhangra, fast-paced songs.
In the year 2005, another album `Velli` was released. And yet again, it created ripples in the Bhangra industry. Throughout the world, the album received rave acclaimation. The lyrics of the albums was written by Balvir Boparai who himself is famous for his album Hostel. Another album, Jatt Driver Fauji was released by Dhillon. The album comprises some of his new and popular tracks.Mashooq and Glassi Khadke are some other albums recorded by him. On 19th March 2006, near Chandigarh, Punjab, India, this promising singer left for the heavenly abode, at the tender age of 32.
