The terrific dialogues are written by Gulzar. This was Rekha`s first role as a comedy artist and she did it successfully. Plot:
The Indian movie `Khubsoorat` is a comedy film where all the stars especially Rekha acted brillaintly. Nirmala Gupta played by Dina Pathak, wife of Dwarka Prasad Gupta played by Ashok Kumar, runs her household in a very militarian fashion. She is very strict and does not allow any sort of indiscipline in her house. Most of her family members dislike this discipline imposed by her but they do obey her instructions to be on her good side. Her husband also obeys her a lot. Meanwhile her second son gets married to Anju. The things start changing after this incident. Anju has a younger sister Manju played by Rekha. Khubsoorat, Indian movieManju comes over to stay for a few days with the Gupta family, and is accepted by everyone except Nirmala. She is very lively and always thinks of doing some pranks on anyone or the other. After coming to their house she tries to change everyone including the head of the family Dwarka prasad Gupta. Nirmala`s third son Rakesh Roshan intends to marry Manju. Manju also likes him. But the things get worsen when Nirmala becomes angry with Manju on some reason and tells her to leave the house. At that time there was no one at the house so Manju stayed there. Nirmala Gupta learns a lesson when Dwarka Prasad Gupta got heart attack and Manju saves him by her presence of mind. Nirmala Gupta is very impressed now and she tells Manju to stay back and marry her son. The Indian movie, `Khubsoorat` has a happy ending.

The Indian movie, `Khubsoorat` has a brilliant star cast including Rekha, Ashok Kumar, Dina Pathak, Rakesh Roshan, etc. There are some other artists in some notable characters like Shashikala, Aradhana, Keshto Mukherjee, Amarnath, Ranjit Chowdhry, etc. The director-producer of the movie is Hrishikesh Mukherjee and is co-produced by N. C. Sippy. The screenplay of the film is written by Shanu Banerjee and Ashok Rawat while th edialogues are written by Gulzar. Music is given by R. D. Burman. Jaywant Pathare did the cinematography of the movie.
