Early Life of Ketan Mehta
Ketan Mehta was born in 1952 in Navsari district, Gujarat and did his schooling from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi. He has graduated in film direction from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

A graduate in film making, Ketan Mehta has over 25 years of experience in the film industry. His repertoire of themes includes comedy, satire, romance, violence and rebellion. He has served as a consultant on many Government of India bodies including Doordarshan, Directorate of Film Festivals and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the National Film Development Corporation of India. Ketan Mehta has also been a content producer in the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and been involved in their satellite project for a number of years. Currently, he is the president of the Independent Indian film makers worldwide, which are a global association of independent Indian films makers and the promoter of Maya Entertainment Ltd and the Maya Digital Studios.

Personal Life of Ketan Mehta
Ketan Mehta is married to Indian actress and movie producer, Deepa Sahi. She has acted in three of his films, Maya Memsaab opposite Shah Rukh Khan, Oh Darling! Yeh Hain India and Aar Ya Paar. Together they founded the Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematic and Maya Digital Studios. Ketan Mehta is the nephew of the Gandhian freedom fighter Usha Mehta.
