Keshav Laxman Badge was a famous Gondhal artist. This famous personality was born in Pune to a traditional family of Gondhal singers. He performed along with his father Laxman Ramchandra Badge from a young age and had to give up his formal school education. He received training in Gondhal from his uncle, Dagdoba Balkoba Garud. Later, he learnt tabla from the maestro Alla Rakha and Vinayak Kharkar. He worked from 1972 at the department of music and drama in the information and broadcasting ministry of the Government of Maharashtra. An accomplished percussionist, Badge plays dhol, sambal and nal drums, daph or tambourine, and other folk instruments adeptly, and has accompanied eminent vocalists on tabla. Over a long career, he performed widely in the state, elsewhere in India, at festivals in Germany and Morocco, and toured the US, UK, and Canada. He has a number of recordings to his name, and also sang Gondhal in Marathi movies.
