Wholly, the folk songs reflect every aspect of life of common people.

A class of Vaishnava Sampradayas songs considerably influences Kamrupi folk song. These songs are highly sophisticated and refined in both literary and musical ways. These folk songs, although sung to the humble "dolara" and the "dagar" (or khanjari) show great intricacy. These songs are rich in musical techniques.
