Jeyamohan (b.April 4, 1962) is one of the influential writers who belonged to Nagercoil in the state of Tamil Nadu. His parents were S.Baguleyan Pillai and B.Visalakshi Amma. He was an avid reader. He first wrote for a children`s magazine called Ratnabala. Thereafter he wrote in weeklies regularly. Vishnupuram is one of the most applauded compositions. It is a tale of fantasy. Other novels composed by him are: Rubber, Pin Thodarum Nizhalin Kural, Kanyakumari, Kaadu, Pani Manithan, Eazhaam Ulagam and Kotravai. Influence of personalities like Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi are seen in his writings.
His contributions include nine novels, ten volumes of short-stories/plays, five biographies of writers, six introductions to Indian and Western literature, thirteen literary criticisms, three volumes on Hindu and Christian philosophy and other collections. He writes extensively on his website on topics ranging from Indian literature to commentary on contemporary India. He went on to become a sanyasi when he was suffering from depression. Then he travelled through places like Varanasi, Palani and other holy places. During this period his correspondence with senior Tamil writer Sundara Ramaswamy started. His association with Ramaswamy groomed Jeyamohan into complex literary analysis and made him develop his own narrative. The suicide of his parents made him lonely. Then reading and writing were the only sources of comfort. Aatroor Ravi Varma, taught him how to keep balance between art and life.
In 1987 his poem was published in the journal Kollippaavai. A poem Nadhi was published in Kanaiyazhi. His poems Bodhi and Padugai were published in the journal Nigazh. His padugai received critical appreciation for its evocative narrative that merged myths and contemporary visuals. Rubber examined patterns of social movement. He married Arunmozhi Nangai in 1991.
His novel Pin Thodarum Nizhalin Kural reverberates with audiences with its sharp analysis of self-appointed destiny makers and the movements created by them. Kaadu (2003) was an exploration of the forest landscape. Kotravai (2005) is considered as his best work in regards to structure and depth.
Thereafter from 1998 to 2004, he with a group of his friends edited a literary journal named Solputhithu. Then he composed a several short-stories, tentatively titled `Aram` that explored the idealism in its highest form which a man can practice.
