Jaspinder Narula, Indian Playback SingerJaspinder Narula is a prominent Indian playback singer who has voiced a number of songs for the Hindi film industry. She rose to fame with the song `Pyar to hona hi tha` in the year 1998 for the film Pyar To Hona Hi Tha. Apart from films she has also earned recognition in Gurbani, Sufi music and other Sikh religious music. She is also known to excel in devotional and folk songs. In fact her singing versatility spans to a number of genres including pop, spiritual, western, filmy and classical.

Early Life of Jaspinder Narula
Jaspinder Narula completed her schooling from Guru Har Krishan Public School (GHPS) India Gate branch, New Delhi. She is a trained Indian classical music vocalist and has completed her Ph.D. in Hindustani classical music from Delhi University in the year 2008. Jaspinder Narula ventured into the world of music at an early age and began singing spiritual hymns. She is the daughter of Kesar Singh Narula, a well known Punjabi music composer of 1950s and Mohini Narula, a singer by profession. Jaspinder Narula initially restricted herself from singing in films and focussed only in singing bhajans and Sufiana compositions.

Jaspinder Narula, Indian Playback Singer The noted music director Kalyanji once heard the renditions of Jaspinder Narula at a private gathering in Delhi and advised her to move to Mumbai to pursue a career in music. He also asked Viju Shah, his son and a music director, to provide her a break in the film industry. Thus she stepped into the film arena by playback singing for the movies like Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, Aar Ya Paar and Master. Her singing style and appealing renditions soon garnered her recognition in the film industry and she voiced a number of popular Bollywood songs. In 1998 she sung the title track of the movie Pyar To Hona Hi Tha along with Remo Fernandes for which she gained much appreciation. Other films for which she has done playback singing including Bunty aur Babli, Mohabbatein, Mission Kashmir, Virasat, Dulhe Raja, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and many more. She also has a number of music albums to her credit including spiritual albums in which she has sung along with noted singers. This versatile singer has sung songs in Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and many regional South-Asian languages.

Achievements of Jaspinder Narula
Jaspinder Narula has received Filmfare Award and Screen Award in the year 1999 for the song Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha from the Bollywood flick Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha. She also won the title of India`s Best Live Performer in Dhoom Macha De, the NDTV Imagine singing reality series in the year 2008.

Jaspinder Narula is married to a Canada-based Indian businessman and presently lives in Mumbai. In February 2014, she joined Aam Aadmi Party.
