In the later half of 21st century, Mumbai despite of having fascinating talents in the theatrical world faced a serious shortage of theatre spaces. Theatrical work in the city was being getting obstructed by the limitations of over-familiar and over-used venues. Eventually, Nadir Khan, Pushan Kripalani, Rehaan Engineer and Karan Makhija, few theatre enthusiasts joined hands to establish the Industrial Theatre Company. Since, its formation, the company discovered and popularized several alternative spaces for theatre in Mumbai. Soon, a new facet of theatre was introduced in the contemporary world of innovative spaces for performing the art. The Industrial Theatre Company is located at the Karachi Housing Society in Andheri, Mumbai.
One of the founding members of Industrial Theatre Company, Nadir khan has worked widely in the theatre as an actor, director and producer and later also established the Q Theatre Productions. Nadir Khan is a familiar name in the genres of radio with the BBC as well as several local Mumbai radio stations. Pushan Kripalani studied film in the U.K. and is also a professional cinematographer and theatre director. Rehaan engineer has received thorough training at the R.A.D.A, currently lives, and works in Mumbai, directing and acting in the theatre and in film.

• Agamemnon - Performed At The Sakshi Art Gallery, in February 2001
• A Suitable Boy - BBC RADIO 4`s award-winning dramatization based on Vikram Seth`s novel, locally produced by the Industrial Theatre Company.
• Hayavadana - Performed on February 2002 at the Horniman Circle Gardens, Fort.
• Manifestly False - It was a devised performance based on the 12th-century Sanskrit `Gita Govinda` and the work of the British playwright Howard Barker. The play was performed at The Prithvi Theatre Festival, on 10 November 2002.
• The Mrichhakatikaa - This play is a 90-minute adaptation of Sudraka`s 5th-century Sanskrit classic done for BBC Radio 3 and recorded on location in Khandala, November 2003.
• Clogged Arteries - This play was premiered at The Prithvi Theatre, Juhu, on 9 April 2004.
• Judith - the play is related to Howard Barker`s blistering re-examination of the Deuterocanonical Book of Judith and was premiered at At The Godrej Dance Academy, NCPA, December 1 2006
