Indrani Sen, Nazrul Geeti SingersIndrani Sen is a Bengali singer, who is mainly known as a notable Nazrul Geeti and Rabindra Sangeet singer. One of the most eminent singers of modern days, Indrani has also sung several Bhajans, Ghazals, modern Bengali songs and devotional songs. Her performance for Hindi Rabindra Sangeet is the most popular ones around the country. Indrani Sen is the daughter of the popular Rabindra Sangeet singer Sumitra Sen. Indrani Sen is the Head of the Department of a Women"s College in Kolkata.

Early Life of Indrani Sen
Initial musical training of Indrani Sen started under the guidance of her mother. Later, she was trained by Bibhuti Dutta, father of Purabi Dutta in Hindustani Classical Music; by Debabrata Biswas in Rabindra Sangeet; by Purabi Dutta in Nazrul Geeti and by Biman Mukhopadhyay in other genre of songs. Indrani Sen completed her graduation and masters in Economics from Jadavpur University. Then she did Ph.D in Economics from University of Calcutta in the field of foreign trade.

Career of Indrani Sen
Indrani Sen has done playback singing in several films and released albums of different genre of songs. Apart from being the H.O.D of Women"s College, Indrani Sen is also a member of the jury board of the Bengali Telefilm Festival of the Kolkata Film Festival. Along with that, she is also the member of the panel of jury for "Telly Samman" of "Sambad Pratidin". Indrani Sen is also a regular artist of T.V. and Radio and she has also her own music school named "Disha". In "Disha" she gives lessons for Nazrul Geeti, songs based on Ragas and Bengali modern songs, whereas Sraboni Sen, her sister, teaches Rabindra Sangeet. Indrani Sen is associated with the committee that decides the names for streets in Kolkata. Sen also performed at the joint initiative of India and Bangladesh to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC), High Commission of India in 2012. Indrani Sen performs in several concerts across India and abroad.
