Hymns in Book XVIII of Atharva Veda starts with an accompaniment to funeral ceremonies as well as sacrificial offerings to ancestral spirits. The next hymn is a funeral hymn that has been sourced from Rig Veda. The third hymn is a funeral hymn which has been taken partly from the Rig Veda. The fourth and the final hymn is also a funeral hymn that has been composed of verses partly from Rig Veda.
