Huthridurga Fort is located in the Bangalore Rural district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is situated almost 65 km towards the west of the city of Bengaluru (Bangalore) and off the Kunigal Magadi state highway. The geographical coordinates are latitude 12°57`21?N and longitude 77°7`15?E.
Huthridurga Fort was raised around five hundred year ago by ruler Kempe Gowda under the Vijayanagar Empire. The fortress was constructed as a seven tiered structure. It is one of the nine most prominent forts around Bengaluru, known as Nava Durgas. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and his divine bull Nandi inside the premise of the fort.
The temple is well maintained and the deity is regularly worshipped by the residents of the nearby village. At present, most of Huthridurga Fort is in a ruined state. Many tourists visit the site throughout the year.
