Hakim Amir Fathullah Shirazi
Hakim Amir Fathullah Shirazi was a famous physician in the court of Akbar. He was born in Shiraz to Shukrullah Shirazi.

Hakim Amir Fathullah Shirazi was born in Shiraz to Shukrullah Shirazi. He received education in medicine and other sciences with Khwaja Jamal al-Din Mansur Shirazi. After completing his education he began teaching in a school. Within a short span of time his name and fame as a physician reached far and wide and soon crossed the borders of Iran.

Life of Hakim Amir Fathullah Shirazi
Hakim Amir Fathullah Shirazi was invited by Adil Shah, the ruler of Bijapur. He was welcomed with much respect and honour upon his arrival in Deccan. Later they became great companions. However, in 1581 A.D. Ali Adil Shah was murdered and was descended by Ibrahim Adil Shah. He was a pleasure loving king and was fond of dance and music. Hakim Fathullah Shirazi disliked the way he led his life and hence thought of abandoning his court. When Akbar learnt about his plan he immediately invited him to his court. Thus, in 1583 Hakim Amir Fathullah Shirazi left Deccan for Fatehpur Sikri. He was received with much respect by Khan-i Khanan and Hakim Abul Fath. Emperor Akbar duly welcomed him and soon developed a close relationship with him. He was bestowed with titles such as Add al-Dawalah, Amin al-Mulk and Add al-Mulk for his expertise, wisdom and insight. He was also included in the Council of Ministers and Raja Todar Mal was ordered to consult him about all financial and state matters. He was a man of unusual intellect having insight about various sciences. Abul Fazl had written the following about him: `If all the medical works of earlier scholars are destroyed, he has the power and ability to compile them again from his memory.`

Amir Fathullah Shirazi wrote several non medical books. Some of his works have been mentioned below:
* Khulasat al-minhaj. It is a commentary of the Holy Quran in Persian.
* Risala-i Ajabat-i Kashmir. It is a treatise on wonders of Kashmir. It was included in the Akbar Nama by the order of the Emperor.
* Minhqj al-sadiqin. It is a detailed commentary on the Holy Quran.
* Tarikh-i alfi. He was the co-author of this book. It dealt with the events of the second year of Akbar`s reign.
* Tarikh-i Jadid. This is a part of Tarikh-i alfi
* Fllah-i Akbar Shahl. It was compiled under his direction.
Hakim Shirazi died in 1584 AD, when he was returning from Kashmir.
