Ganesha Kavacham, Mantras of Lord GaneshaGanesha Kavacham or Ganesha Kavacha Stotram is one of the mantras of Lord Ganesha. It is also known as Vinayaka Kavacham and Ganapathi Kavacham. Kavacham in Sanskrit means body armour or protective cover. Thus by the recitation of the Ganesha Kavacham, a devotee of Lord Ganesha requests to the deity to provide protection against obstacles and other evils. The Ganesha Kavacham is a popular devotional hymn which is chanted in praise and worship of Ganesha.

The worshippers recite the Ganesha Kavacha Stotram to protect themselves and their family. The verses of the Kavacham request the elephant-faced deity to give protection to every part of the body and also to provide protection to life, assets, family and loved ones. The recitation of the mantra also removes obstacles from the lives of the worshippers.

The Ganesha Kavacham mantra offers salutations to the deity and requests to Remover of Obstacles to protect the head of His devotees. A devotee recites the hymn to request the Lord to protect his eyes, hair, nose, forehead, arms, fingers, stomach, chin and other body parts. It also requests the Lord of the Ganas to protect the mind of the worshipper and provide salvation. The Lord who wears serpent as sacred thread is requested to protect the entire body of His devotees through the Ganesha Kavacha Stotram. The devotee also asks the bestower of riches to provide over all protection. Then the devotee offers his prayers and salutations to Lord Ganesha.
