The Elemi is a tall, tropical tree which often grows to over 30 meters. The tree is found in the tropical forests of the Philippines and some neighbouring nations. The oil is non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing. It is also used in the soap, cosmetics, perfume, and paint industries.

Extraction and Properties of Elemi Oil
The oil of Elemi is extracted by steam distillation of the gum obtained from the Elemi tree. The properties of this oil include antiseptic, analgesic, expectorant, stimulant, antiviral, bactericide, fungicide, tonic and vulnerary.

Blending of Elemi Oil
The oil mixes well with Lemon oil, Cajuput oil, Basil oil, Myrtle oil, Eucalyptus oil, Cinnamon oil, Labdanum oil, Rosemary oil, Lavender oil and Sage oil.

Medicinal Benefits of Elemi Oil
