Gaya is an ancient city in eastern India that has the ancient historical and mythological significance. It is one of the major tourist attractions of Bihar. This city has the vast line of education. Gaya is also the headquarters of Gaya district and Magadh division of Bihar.

Engineering Colleges in Gaya
There are plenty of colleges which includes Government Medical College, A N Magadh Medical College and Hospital, Government Engineering College, Gaya College of Engineering managed by the Department of Science and Technology of Government of Bihar. It is approved and recognised by AICTE and is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University in Patna, Bihar. It was formerly named `Magadh Engineering College (MEC)` from 1980 to 1994; now it is a public institute under the name `Gaya College of Engineering (GCE)` and two private engineering colleges also. Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya is one of Alumni in the city.

General Colleges in Gaya
There are various colleges for Science, Arts and Commerce in city like one prestigious college i.e Gaya College. Magadh University, the largest university of Bihar is also in Gaya. The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) is one of the sixteen newly established Central Universities by the Government of India. The university is located at the premises of Birla Institute of Technology, Patna. In addition to existing 13 Master Programmes at the temporary campus at BIT, Patna, the University launched Five Year Integrated B.A, LL.B (Hon`s.) and B.Sc, LL.B(Hon`s.).

B. Ed Colleges in Gaya
The establishment of A. M. B. Ed. College, which is the first B. Ed. College in Gaya has the constituent college under the accreditation of Magadha University.
