Dimbeswar Neog`s (1900-66) produced poems of great strength and beauty like Sapamukta. It is a presentation of a myth poetic conception of nature. It is a nature-myth. The poet here accepts that nature is a medium to revitalize. The poet through this poem seeks to rouse the sleeping land to self-consciousness and patriotic pride. His Maram bhikhari is a poem of pleasant beauty. His collection of 14 sonnets is called Mukuta (1932). The sonnets are technically beautiful. His lyrics are very fresh. It is a poem of great patriotic desire. His Buranji lekhak presents the glories enshrined in the leaps of Assamese history.
Neog`s lyrics might lead him anywhere into the hall of poetry. It is difficult to classify them. His other works include Malika (1922), Thupitara (1925), Malati (1927), Shahide Karbala (1940), Meghdut (1942), Bichitra, Thapana (1948) and so on.
