Daji Bhatawadekar, with the stage name of Krishnachandra Moreshwar, was a popular figure in the Indian drama circuit. He was born in the year of 1921. Daji Bhatawadekar produced, directed, and acted the lead in many plays based on Sanskrit literature, and is the only person to receive a Sangeet Natak Akademi award for Sanskrit theatre. He also performed in Marathi theatre. He became idol as one of its finest actors during the 1960s. He was a worthy successor and contrast to "Nanasaheb" Phatak of the old school. There were some popular hits as P. L. Deshpande`s Tujhe ahe tujapashi i.e. `To Each His Own` in 1957. In that play he created the protagonist as an aristocratic aesthete.
