Cities of MizoramMizoram is the southernmost outpost of North Eastern India. Cities of Mizoram are sheltered in the lap of the blue mountains and are home to a range of exotic flora and dense bamboo jungles. As if to provide a beautiful contrast to the dense jungles and steep hills there are lush green paddy fields. The gushing rivers, vast blue sky and gleaming waterfalls add to the vibrant atmosphere of the cities.

Cities of Mizoram are mainly inhabited by the Mizos who have a very sincere code of ethics based on the term "Tlawmngaihna", which implies hospitability, kindness, unselfishness and helpfulness. There are two important festivals held in the cities, one is Chaphar Kut (related to Jhum cultivation) and the other is Pawl Kut. The major cities of Mizoram are Aizawl, Lawngtlai, Lunglei, Champhai.

Aizawl
Cities of MizoramAizawl is the capital of the state of Mizoram in India. It is also the centre of administration containing all the important government offices, state assembly house and civil secretariat. The population of Aizawl strongly reflects the different communities of the ethnic Mizo people.

Lunglei
Lunglei is a town, situated in the south-central part of Mizoram state, northeastern India. Lunglei, sometimes spelled Lungleh, literally meaning `bridge of rock` got its name from a bridge like rock found in the riverine area around Nghasih - a small tributary of the river Tlawng. It is the second largest town after the capital, Aizawl, located 165 km (102 miles) south of Aizawl.

Champhai
Champhai is a border town in Mizoram. It is the headquarters of Champhai district, one of the eight districts in the state. It is located on the Indo-Myanmar border and is situated in a strategically important location. Because of this, it is the main business corridor for India and Myanmar.

Serchhip
Serchhip is the headquarters town of Serchhip district in Mizoram. It is also the headquarters of Serchhip Sadar subdivision. It lies in the central part of Mizoram, and 112 km away from the State capital city of Aizawl. The district has the highest literacy all over India.
