Chuda Ghasa, Oriya RecipeChuda Ghasa is a delicious recipe mostly popular in the Odisha state of India. It is generally offered as bhoga during Ganesh Puja and Saraswati Puja. This powdered rice flakes mixture is easy to prepare and can be made at home.

Ingredients of Chuda Ghasa:

•1/2 kg beaten rice
•75 gms ghee
•150 gms jaggery or gur
•1 Teaspoon black pepper powder
•1/2 Shell grated coconut
•2 Cardamoms
•Dry fruits and fruits (raisins or apple or banana cut into small pieces) for garnishing.

Method of Preparing Chuda Ghasa:

•Grind chuda.
•Place the grounded chuda in a bowl and add ghee.
•Mix it properly so that the ghee completely melts and mixes with the chuda.
•Add the jaggery powder to it and mix again. It takes a minimum of 20 minutes to blend properly.
•Add the scraped coconut, black pepper powder and cardamom powder.
•Mix again for 10 minutes.
•Add dry fruits like raisins and /or fruits like apples and banana.
•Serve.

Besides puja, this mouth watering dish is also relished at home on normal days. The most important part about Chuda Ghasa is it is low on calorie, so it`s a delight for the calorie conscious people. Chuda Ghasa can be consumed as a breakfast item and also as an evening snack item.
