The twenty-eighth yogic sutra describes about the influence of the moon in the bodily governing. The lunar plexus is located in the cerebrum. A yogi gains even more knowledge by assilimilation of the region. The brain is compared with the moon that is a master-cooling agent. It controls various fundamental functions of the human body. And through samyama, a yogi will come to know the exact position of the lunar plexus.

In the last sutra, the sun, surya, refers to the core of one`s being. The moon, candra, refers to the mind and consciousness. The solar plexus is situated in the region of the trunk; the lunar plexus has its seat in the cerebrum. By samyama on that region, the yogi obtains further knowledge.
The brain is likened with the moon, which cools the solar system; the lunar plexus maintains a stable, constant temperature in the body, even though the seasonal temperature fluctuates. It also controls and directs the parasympathetic system and governs the functioning of the central nervous system.
The galaxies of stars represent galaxies of thought-waves which, like stars, twinkle, disappear, reappear and shine forth once again.
