Bhavna Talwar started her career as a journalist at Asian Age, covering film, theatre, fashion, and later worked for over eight years as an assistant director with an Ad film company. She was nominated as agency producer for the "The Rain - Reebok" commercial at the Cannes Advertisement Fest.

The first film of Bhavna Talwar was Dharm (2007), starring Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak, premiered as the closing film at the World Cinema Section at the Cannes Film Festival 2007.
