Barware

Barware is a town of the Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh.

Barwar is a town as well as a nagar panchayat situated in the Kheri district in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. The district is included under the Lucknow division. It is positioned in India along the Nepal border. It is well known for its sugarcane industry and has some of the biggest sugar mills. As boundaries the Kheri district has the Shahjahanpur and the Pilibhit districts in the west, the Behraich district in the east and the Hardoi district in the south. The climate is hot all through the year apart from the rainy seasons. In the winter, the nights are very cold. Because of its location in a Tarai region, the district is rich in natural greenery. The major rivers passing through the district are Ghagra, Sharda, Koriyala, Sarayan, Ull, Chauka, Gomti, Kathana, Saryu and Mohana. Kheri district has many places of historical important like the Shiv Temple Gola Gokaran Nath, the Frog Temple, and the Shiv Temple Devkali. The district is also famous for cottage industries, mainly incense sticks. It is home to the Dudhwa National Park, which harbours tigers, leopards, swamp deer, hispid hares, Bengal floricans and the like.

As per the 2001 India census, the town of Barwar has a population of 11,800. Males form 54% of the population and females amount to 46%. Barwar has a mean literacy rate of 43%, lower than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. 62% of the males and 38% of the females are literate. 19% of the population is children less than 6 years of age.
