Baheliya or Badhak is a tribe of hunters, game-keepers, and bird-catchers. These hill tribes of India are expert in the art of catching birds. The Baheliya tribe practices the art so frequently that it learnt them wonderful powers of manipulation.

Baheliya or Badhak tribes catch the birds using a long pole. These poles sometimes have a sharp spike attached to one end and sometimes bird-lime from the Maddar tree. The Baheliya or Badhak tribes introduce the pole among a number of birds while they are hopping. They are offered with grain and the hunters of the Badhak tribe move the pole slowly with a snake-like motion. It is then suddenly jerked when near one of the bird which is caught either by the spike or lime as the case may be.
