The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, John Abraham and Hema Malini as it`s central character. The Indian Movie `Baabul` is dubbed in Telegu as `Premabhishekam`. The story tells the tale of a man who tries to bring happiness back into his daughter-in-law`s life after his son`s death. The man goes against traditions to help his widowed daughter-in-law find a new life.

The Indian film `Baabul` is based on a very pertinent theme. A woman emotionally torn apart after the death of her loving husband is shown the hope of a new life by her father-in-law. The movie questions the traditions following which people turn their backs to life. In that sense, `Baabul` is a pro-life film.

Synopsis of the Indian film `Baabul`
The Bollywood movie `Baabul` is a light mode movie in its first part but in the second part it becomes much serious and full of tears. Balraj Kapoor played by Amitabh Bachchan is a rich businessman, happy and content with his world. He and his wife Shobhna played by Hema Malini have a son Avinash, played by Salman Khan. After many years of studying abroad, Avinash announces that he is returning home. Soon, Malvika `Milli` Talwar played by Rani Mukerji enters his life. Love blossoms between them and they get married and are soon blessed with a son, Ansh. However tragedy strikes the family when Avinash is killed in an accident. The loss is too much for Milli and she slowly falls into depression. Mili is left devastated and utterly alone. Baabul,   Indian filmWhile Balraj and Shobhna find a little solace in their grandchild, the pain of losing Avinash is too strong for Mili to bear. She starts thinking that Avinash is still alive and also does the action accordingly. As for example she keeps `Kauda Chauth` fasting for the long life of her husband. She also dances with her husband`s sweater and immediately bursts into tears.

Seeing her in pain, Balraj decides to bring colours back into Milli`s life and he gets into contact with Mili`s best friend Rajat played by John Abraham. Rajat secretly loved her but never told her. He is a musician settled in Europe and is also willing to marry Mili. Balraj asks Rajat to marry Milli but he faces a strong opposition from his traditional elder brother Balwant played by Om Puri. Wife Shobhana also disapprove of this decision. Balwant is totally opposed to the marriage but after some talks with Balraj he agrees. The conversation in this later part of the movie surely leave the audience with moist eyes. After lots of discussions and persuation the family members agrees to the decision and Rajat and Milli gets married.
