Avtar Krishan Rahbar is a dramatist of Kashmir theatre. He is a historian and also a writer of short stories who retired as Producer at Radio Kashmir, Srinagar. He authored four plays. The names can be mentioned as Talash or `Search` and Bi chus tstir i.e. `I`m a Thief`. Both of these were under the direction of Makhanlal Saraf and also won awards in 1969 and 1970 respectively. Wali heryish i.e. Predicament and Badshah i.e. `Emperor` were staged by Kashmiri theatre groups as well as produced as radio drama. All four rely on sentimental dialogue but carry meaningful messages as well.
