Ashwini Ponappa, Indian Badminton PlayerAshwini Ponappa is an Indian badminton player who was born on 18th September in the year 1989. She went to St. Francis Xavier`s Girl`s High School which is located in Bangalore and later shifted to Hyderabad to pursue her Bachelor`s Degree. The Indian junior championship player in badminton was won by this player, as well as the South Asian Games of 2006 wherein she received a gold medal as the award. During the event of the 2010 Commonwealth Games, she had emerged victorious and had won gold medal in the Women`s Doubles, in which she was paired with Jwala Gutta. However, Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa pair of Japan had defeated her and Jwala Gutta at the London Olympics, in the opening match. She had again won a victory against the Chinese pair consisting of Chien and Cheng with a score of 25-23, 14-21, 21-18.
